Ozark, Ala (November 6, 2013) – Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store will open a new facility in Ozark on US Highway 231, according to Eric Basinger, Executive Director of the Ozark-Dale County Economic Development Corporation. Love’s plans to invest several million dollars in Ozark as they secure the property and construct their travel center which will include a country store, restaurant, diesel and gasoline pumps and a truck tire care shop. A total of 50-60 mostly full-time jobs are expected to be created by the Love’s in Ozark and those jobs will include full benefits.
The plan is for construction to begin at 168 Campus Drive, Ozark, in 2014 and for the new Love’s to be open by the end of the year.
“The City of Ozark has taken an aggressive approach to bringing new jobs and investment to the City of Ozark and Love’s is an exciting result of our efforts and dedication to our goal of increased quality economic development in Ozark,” said Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell. “We are honored to welcome Love’s as a new business member of our great city.”
Bill Gleason, Real Estate Project Manager for Love’s commented, “Love’s is excited about the location in Ozark as the home for the Highway 231 Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store. The Mayor and City Council, City Officials and the Ozark-Dale County Economic Development Corporation have moved quickly to meet all of our needs and have demonstrated that Ozark is open for business. As a resident of Alabama I’m happy to see another Love’s opening in the State.”
“This Love’s location marks the first Love’s in Alabama that will be constructed off of the interstate and will further strengthen Ozark and Dale County’s position as a preferred route to visit the popular coastal travel destinations to the south of the area which is an important part of our economic success model,” Basinger said. The Ozark-Dale Economic Development Corporation initially reached out to Love’s and has worked closely with the City of Ozark to secure the investment for the area.
Love’s was founded in 1964 in Watonga, Oklahoma and reports annual revenues of more than $17 billion. Love’s ranks as the 9th largest private company in the United States according to the Forbes list of America’s Largest Private Companies. For more on Love’s visit www.loves.com.
