Ozark Utilities Board recently was named by the Alabama Water Pollution Control Association as the “Best Operated” water system in Alabama for water systems serving populations of 15,000 to 25,000 for 2017, and the “Best Operated” award for the Northeast Lagoon wastewater treatment facility for 2017.
Since 2000, Ozark’s water system has been awarded “Best Operated” six times and received the “Award of Excellence” four times. The wastewater treatment system has been awarded “Best Operated” eight times. The systems were judged on several categories that included chemical handling, pumping equipment, water quality performance, records and test equipment, safety, and operator qualifications.
